Open, Transparent, Democratic

Far too often, only corporate insiders and backroom lobbyists know what’s going on in trade negotiations until the deal is already done. That’s why these deals so often discount the rights of workers, the environment and the public interest.

Daniel and the NDP are fighting to make the process more open, transparent and democratic. During the ratification of the new Canada-United States-Mexico-Agreement (CUSMA), Daniel was able to negotiate changes to the government’s Policy on Tabling Treaties in Parliament.  Read the full letter here.
